The building blocks of a great education
The Montessori Method of education was pioneered by Maria Montessori. She created a method of education that would inspire children to learn and instil a love for learning. The Montessori philosophy values the development of the whole child; physical, social, emotional and cognitive. To support this development she advocated a learning environment that enabled children opportunities to learn through doing and with the freedom to follow their own development journey, supporting the individual personalities of each individual child. It was Maria Montessori’s belief that children who are at liberty to choose and learn independently within a carefully prepared environment would act spontaneously for optimal development.
At Bardfield Montessori Day Nursery, we offer exceptional childcare, ensuring every child in our care can learn and develop in a natural, safe and secure environment. We provide a carefully prepared environment in a renovated barn with beautiful outdoor spaces for children to experience nature and space. The children are supported by a well-qualified Montessori team who will care for and guide your child with respect and understanding. There will be opportunities to go to forest school, to go on nature walks, care for animals and to care for their own gardens.
The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.
The environment we have created is calm and natural. The children will explore in warm and cosy spaces, that are prepared with opportunities and activities to support their learning and development. They will have access to a beautiful outside space, that will allow them to explore and experience nature in a safe place. Our nursery app allows parents and carers to access information about their child at any time. This enables you to follow your child’s learning journey, read observations written by their key worker and send messages to the nursery supporting our commitment to transparent partnership with parents.
We are open Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30-6:00. We offer sessions within these opening times throughout 51 weeks of the year. We are closed from Christmas Eve and reopen the first working day of the new year.
